Christian Action is pleased to confirm that the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has now reassessed the organisation and awarded a compliant upgrade to its governance grade to (G2) and its viability grade to (V2), recognising the significant improvements made. The regulator is also satisfied that the voluntary undertaking has been honoured and it is reasonable for it to be discharged. The updated regulatory judgement confirms that Christian Action meets the Regulator’s governance and financial viability requirements.

Aaron John, Chair of Christian Action, said:

“We are delighted that the Regulator has recognised the strength of the improvements we have made. Since the regulatory judgement, the Board and Executive team have worked with focus and determination to strengthen our governance arrangements, enhance oversight, and embed robust systems and controls across the organisation. This judgement reflects the hard work and our ongoing commitment to operating to the highest standards.”

Since being placed on the Gradings Under Review list, Christian Action has delivered a comprehensive recovery plan, including strengthening Board oversight, enhancing risk management, and working closely with external specialists to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Aniekan Umoren, Chief Executive of Christian Action, added:

“This is a significant milestone for Christian Action. The improvements we have implemented have strengthened our governance framework and positioned us well for the future. This outcome will provide reassurance to our residents, partners and stakeholders however, we know we still have work to do to achieve a level of quality service that we aspire to deliver and that our community expect from us.”

Christian Action will continue to build on this progress, maintaining a strong focus on governance, service quality for our residents and long-term sustainability for the communities it serves.
