Informing new tenants on utility suppliers

At a Resident Involvement meeting in November last year, the group helped review the Acceptable Lettings Policy.

One of their recommendations was to ensure that energy supplier information is readily available to new residents. The group felt that residents should receive clear information on gas suppliers and utility setup when moving in.

What We Did

Within the four-week termination period, a CAHA staff member attends the property, usually alongside a surveyor to complete an exit visit. During this visit, the outgoing resident is asked to confirm the current energy supplier.

This information is then passed on to the incoming resident, who can choose to remain with the existing supplier or switch to an alternative. All relevant details are recorded in the welcome pack provided at sign up.
