Enfield Island Village Hub officially opens its doors

The official opening of the EIV hub. People gathered around the plaque

Saturday 14 February marked the launch of the Enfield Island Village Hub, a new community library space created within our reception area. The Hub was officially opened by Deputy Lieutenant Anne Cable and the Mayor of Enfield, Margaret Greer.

The event was well attended, with residents and members of the local community coming along to explore the space and share their excitement about this new addition to Enfield Island Village.

The Hub will initially open every Thursday from 10am to 2pm. As the network of local volunteers grows, it is hoped that these times will increase.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please email Sugar Ahmed sugar.ahmed33@gmail.com

The Library Hub is a welcoming, accessible space designed to bring people together.

For our residents, this means

  • A  free local space to read, learn and relax

  • Opportunities for children and families to develop a love of reading close to home

  • A place to meet neighbours and reduce social isolation

  • The chance to volunteer, build skills and contribute to the local community

The space will also give us new opportunities to connect with residents in an informal and welcoming setting, share information about CAHA services and support, and listen to feedback about what matters most locally.

By transforming part of our reception area into a shared community space, we are investing in connection, wellbeing and opportunity. The Hub reflects our commitment to working in partnership with residents and local volunteers to create places where people feel proud to live.

We look forward to seeing the Library Hub grow into a thriving community resource for Enfield Island Village. ❤️📚
