What We Do

House meetings:

These are held on a regular monthly basis and offer residents the opportunity to discuss scheme issues they may wish to raise and to also discuss further scheme activities. This also gives an opportunity for the scheme manager to advise residents of any Christian Action Housing news along with information on local events.

Older Residents Audit Panel (ORAP):

These are held every 4 months throughout the schemes. ORAP is made up of a resident from most of our schemes along with the Operations Manager, Administrative Assistant and 2 Scheme Managers.

At these meetings we discuss forthcoming event ideas and also to be involved in reviewing Christian Acton Housings Policies & Procedures.

Estate Champions:

At most of our schemes we have an appointed Estate Champion who will complete monthly inspections, giving you the opportunity to report any issues there might be at your scheme with regards to the cleaning of communal areas, window cleaning and gardening.

Scheme get together events:

We also have retirement events that involve all of our schemes where residents and staff members have come together and enjoyed a quiz afternoon with a fish & chip lunch, The Queens Golden Jubilee where we had afternoon tea and entertainment by a local Orchestra. We also held an Older Peoples, Multi-Cultural event where some residents dressed in their native costume and we sampled food from around the world, and more recently we celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday with afternoon tea and live music. Healthy Living:

To promote healthy living and wellbeing we recently held a “Get Up and Find Your Go” day; this included a variety of stalls such as Health checks, Armchair exercises, Massage, Line dancing, Tia Chi and a Nutri Bullet stand that promoted taster smoothie drinks, along with a buffet lunch.

Please ask your scheme manager for further details on any of the above.
