Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
As a local landlord that provides local needs in diverse and challenging parts of London, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is a key consideration in everything we do. We remain committed to principles of equal access and opportunity and embrace the diversity and inclusion of our staff, customers and communities.
As our name suggests we are Christian Action, a housing association motivated by Christian and social concern that welcomes and embraces those from all faiths and none. We are an anti-racism organisation and have a zero tolerance on racism and all forms of bigotry.
We are grounded in a commitment to tackle injustice and inequality. These are our roots and continue to be the values that motivate us today. Strong values are not enough to lead to fair outcomes.
We commit to doing more as an employer and as a landlord to fight racism, champion diversity and achieve greater equality. In 2020, in consultation with staff and residents we developed our EDI strategy that outline 3 key themes;
- Provide service excellence that is tailored to the diverse needs of our tenants and residents delivered through the insightful use of tenant data, high quality staff training and a creative approach to processes, policies and problem-solving.
- Create a ‘One Christian Action’ culture that ensures every team member feels like they belong, that their diversity is not just recognised but welcomed, and that the organisation works hard to give equal access to employment, promotion and development opportunities.
- As a local business CAHA aims to fully represent the diversity of our local community, offering transparent and fair access to everything we do including our services, Board and Resident Group Membership, employment and contracts.
