I Am Experiencing Condensation, How Do I Prevent It?

Condensation is caused by warm, moist air collecting on a cold surface such as a wall. It occurs most frequently in kitchens and bathrooms but it can also occur in other rooms.

Proper ventilation, insulation and heating can help reduce or control condensation. Particular forms of heating such as bottled gas and paraffin heaters can cause condensation or make the problem worse as they produce large volumes of water. This is one reason why we do not permit tenants to use these heaters.

One of the signs of condensation is a black mould stain, usually on walls around widows and paintwork. This can be washed off using a suitable proprietary cleaning agent, available at your local supermarket. You may need to clean the affected areas regularly.
