Gas Safety Checks

By law, we must service your gas appliances once a year. It is very important that you let our contractors in to do this as the inspections are vital for your safety. They ensure that gas appliances are safe from carbon monoxide  leakage, risk of explosion and are working efficiently and economically.

If your gas certificate is more than 12 months old, or you know that there has not been a safety check for more than 12 months, please contact our repairs team straight away so that we can arrange an inspection.

Please ensure that someone is available to let the gas contractor in to carry out the inspection.

Many people do not appreciate how important the safety inspection is and do not make themselves available when we have made appointments to carry out the inspection. If we are unable to gain access to carry out the inspection we will take legal action so that we can undertake our legal responsibilities. You will be charged for the cost of our legal expenses.

Gas Leaks

If you smell gas, turn off all gas appliances immediately, open windows and put out all naked flames. Turn off your gas supply by closing the handle on your gas meter. Ring the gas emergency service on 0800 111 999 (National Grid Gas).
