Contractors Working In Your Home

We expect our contractors to treat you and your home with respect when they visit to carry out repairs. The sorts of things we expect from them include:

  • Keeping appointments
  • Identifying themselves properly
  • Keeping you informed if they need to leave site to get materials or for any other reason
  • Protecting your home and possessions from dust and dirt as much as possible
  • Not smoking, playing music or using offensive language
  • Keeping your home secure while they are there
  • Clearing away any rubbish
  • Telling you when the job is finished and if it is not when they expect to return to complete it
  • Following all health and safety guidelines

When contractors are working in your home, you are advised:

  • Not to leave workmen alone in your property or with children under 16
  • Not to leave a key for a contractor if it means they will then be entering your home unsupervised
  • To make arrangements for contractors to get on with their work, so you will need to make sure that pets are kept out of the way, that children do not interfere and that furniture and other items are clear of the area in which they are working

We monitor carefully the work our contractors carry out, so if you are asked to complete a satisfaction form, please do so. We may also ask to visit or speak to you to find out if you were happy with the performance of our contractors.
