The Foyer Spark Awards

Our Foyer Residents Success

spark awards foyer 18 logo The Spark Awards is an annual award ceremony that celebrates talent across the sector within the Foyer Federation.

Our Enfield Foyer scheme entered three outstanding young people for the Foyer Federation Spark Awards.   All three of our foyer residents were shortlisted as follows:

  • Shakeka Hlyton for the’ Above and Beyond’ award.
  • Daniella Daramanu who is now a former resident for the ‘Positive move on’ award
  • Tyrel Beckford also a former resident who left for university for the ‘Inspirational’ award

The three of them were nominated by staff out of 36 of our residents for their impact and outstanding achievements throughout their stay at the Foyer.

These were then shortlisted by the Foyer Federation National Network in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Although other deserving candidates were winners within their categories, staff would like to say well done and congratulate  Shakeka , Daniella and Tyrel for getting this far. We are so proud of them!

As the awards were coming to an end we were surprised with a unexpected announcement that our very own Tyrel Beckford had won the ‘Advantage Thinker’ award in memory of the late CEO of the Foyer Federation  Jane Slowey. Tyrel took the stage and gave a very inspirational speech.

The night was a great experience for our young people and staff, celebrating with the Foyer Federation Network and seeing the concept of advantage thinking come to life.
